Today, Nidri is the destination of the largest part of the tourists visiting the island. It offers restaurants, bars and stores of all kinds, while also giving the opportunity to visitors to engage in water sports and sailing and to visit the little islands of the bay as well as Ithaca and Kefalonia.
More specifically, from Nidri it is possible to see the beautiful "Prigkiponisia" (Sparti, Cheloni, Madouri, Skorpidi, Skorpios) which, added to the peninsula of Agia Kyriaki, form a wonderful island group. Madouri belongs to the Valaoritis family. Skorpios, owned by Aristotelis Onassis, made Nidri internationally famous, as from time to time it has hosted a large number of visitors and personages from all over the world. It is worth mentioning that in order to honour the Greek shipowner, the residents of the area built a statue of him, which decorates the central square of Nidri. At the port you will find a lot of boats, some of which offer cruises to the "Prigkiponisia" and the nearby beaches, while others offer daily cruises to the cape of Lefkada, Porto Katsiki, Egremni, as well as to Kefalonia and Ithaca. You can also rent a small boat or speedboat and explore the areas yourselves.
Nidri - Waterfalls
At a very close distance to Nidri, in a completely different environment, you can find the waterfalls of the area. The route within the lush nature is particularly delightful and ends at a path leading to a series of rocks, where the waterfall flows. If you continue close above, you will see a natural basin where the water is gathered. There, you can swim in the ice-cold waters.
